Bardia National park which is similar to Chitwan National park is situated in the far west terai of Nepal. The park covers an area of 968 sq. km. The park was initially a Royal hunting reserve. It was only in 1988 that it was granted a status of National park in order to preserve the endangered species of rare ecosystem, including flora and fauna, the tiger and its other prey species.
Bardia National Park is the habitat of 53 species of mammals including endangered rhinoceros, elephant, more than 25 species of reptiles, over 400 species of birds, 121 species of fishes and unknown diversity of mollusks and arthropods. Elephant ride or jeep safari can be done to explore the jungle and search for wildlife. Day 1: Two Brothers trek and Expedition representative will receive you from Nepalgunj Airport and transfer to hotel. After getting refreshed at hotel, we will visit nearby ethnic Tharu village and learn about tharu culture. Overnight in lodge
Day 2: After breakfast, we will go for elephant ride. This one hour ride is an excellent opportunity to see the wildlife of the park. We will also visit Visitors Center, Crocodile Breeding Center and Tharu Museum. After lunch, we will go for a jungle walk with an experienced guide.
Day 3: After breakfast, we will do Tiger tracking which is an excellent opportunity to see a Royal Bengal tiger. We will also see many species of birds. After lunch, we will do jeep safari to see wild animals and mammals inhabit in Bardia.
Day 4: After breakfast, we will visit Karnali River where you can see dolphins. Then we will departure for onward journey.
