Overview

Bhutan Cultural Tour gives you the opportunity to explore the Bhutan's unique culture and natural beauty. Bhutan Cultural Tour begins from the scenic Paro valley and moves along to Thimphu, Punakha, Bumthang, and Wangdue, finally ending with a hike to the very famous Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest) Monastery. Bhutan Cultural Tour is extra ordinary tour due to its numerous sacred sites, dzongs, temples, landmarks, monasteries, markets, farm houses, schools and museums etc.  Bhutan's unique architecture is one of the most striking physical features; the colour of house and buildings is a distinct source of aesthetic pleasure.

 

Summarize circuit

Day 1: Arrival and sightseeing in Paro. 2,250m

The representative of Two Brothers Trek and Expedition will receive you from airport and transfer to hotel. After taking rest for a while, we will visit Rinpung Dzong which was built in 1646 and now houses the district Monastic Body and government administrative offices of Paro Dzongkhag. We will also visit Kichu Lhakhang, the oldest temple in the country and Drugyal Dzong. Overnight in Paro

 

Day 2: Excursion to Chele La Pass (3,810m) then drive to Thimphu 

After breakfast we drive to Chele La Pass.  After lunch, we hike further down the ridges to the Kila Goempa Nunnery. From there we hike for a while through the coniferous forest and drive to Thimpu. Overnight in Thimpu

 

Day 3: Sightseeing in Thimphu

Today we visit Memorial Chorten, nunnery temple, mini zoo to see Takin, the national animal of Bhutan. Today, we also visit other landmarks of Thimphu including the National Institute of Traditional Medicine, Bhutanese traditional painting school, folk heritage museum, the majestic Tashichho Dzong and the traditional handmade paper factory. Overnight in Thimphu

 

Day 4: Thimpu to Punakha. 1,250m

After breakfast we drive to Punakha via Dochu La pass. You can enjoy the beautiful view of Himalayas from the Dochu La pass. Crossing the rhododendron, fir and hemlock forests we reach Punakha. After lunch, we visit Punakha Dzong. Overnight in Punakha

 

Day 5: Punakha Village Tour

Today we drive to the Punakha Dzong and walk across the suspension bridge, gradually climb towards Dompola Hills. Next, we walk uphill for another two hours to Limbhukha, a village known for its peaceful nature. After exploring the village we return to hotel. Overnight in Punakha

 

Day 6: Punakha to Bumthang 2,850m

After breakfast we drive to Bumthang via Pele La Pass. On the way, we visit Trongsa Dzong, a masterpiece in Bhutanese architecture. Overnight in Bumthang

 

Day 7: Sightseeing in Bumthang

Today we visit Jakar Dzong, the administrative center of the valley; Jambey Lhakhang, one of the oldest monasteries in Bhutan, dating back to the introduction of Buddhism in Bhutan; and Kurje Lhakhang, a sacred place where Guru Rinpoche is believed to have left his body imprint on the cave when he was meditating. Overnight in Bumthang

 

Day 8: Excursion to Tang Valley then back to Bumthang

Today we explore Tang valley, the most remote valley in Bumthang along with its neighboring villages. We will also visit16th century Ugyen Chholing Palace which is now turned into a museum.  On the way back to town, we visit Mebar Tsho (Burning Lake). Overnight in Bumthang

 

Day 9: Bumthang to Wangdue 1,240m

Today we drive from Bhumthang to Wangdue via Chendebji Chhorten.  Wangdue village is well known for its magnificent bamboo work and slate carvings. Overnight in Wangdue

 

Day 10: Wangdue to Paro

It is 3/4 hours drive to Paro via Punakha and we visit the Dzong. We will have lunch at Thimphu and drive to Paro visiting the oldest building in Bhutan, the Simtokha Dzong. It now serves as a Buddhist university. Overnight in Paro

 

Day 11: Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery

After breakfast, we hike for 4 -5 hours to Taktsang (Tiger's Nest) Monastery, which is Bhutan's most famous monastery situated at 3,180 meters. After exploring the monastery we return Paro. Overnight in Paro

 

Day 12: Final Departure

After breakfast, the representative of Two Brother Trek and Expedition will drop you in airport for your onwards journey.
