Overview

Island Peak (6187m), also known as Imja Tse is the most popular and busy trekking peak in the Khumbu Himalayan range of Nepal. Hiking in this peak gives the best satisfaction that every amateur and serious climber can dream of. If you are seeking the excitement of adventure and wish to expand your experience towards the peak climbing expedition outside simply trekking in Nepal, this is the mountain for you.

Our professionally designed itinerary offers you a couple of days extra to get acclimatized with the atmosphere.

We head for Island Peak Climbing after the essential climbing practice course which is briefed and instructed by our Sherpa instructor on various aspects of climbing techniques. Your historical effort to summit the peak will probably be rewarded with one of the best panoramic views in the world, as you feel Lhotse, Nuptse, Baruntse, Ama Dablam and Makalu are almost touching the tip of your nose. Descending with a sense of achievement, our route takes us into many cultural sites, such as Pangboche, a traditional Sherpa village; Tangboche, famous for its ornately decorated Tibetan monasteries and Namche Bazaar, the Sherpa Capital and cultural center of Khumbu. Summarize circuit

Day 01 - Arrival in Kathmandu airport (1345meters). Overnight at hotel.

The representative of Two Brothers Trek and Expeditions will heartily welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer to hotel.You take rest and enjoy your meal in the evening. Overnight stay at hotel in Kathmandu

Day 02 - Pre-trip Meeting and Sightseeing around Kathmandu valley. Overnight at hotel.

After breakfast, we set out for the city sightseeing to the historical monuments. You will visit UNESCO world heritage sites, which include Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Darbar Squar, Bhaktapur Darbar Square, Swayambhunath, Bouddhanath and Pashupatinath. We will give you briefing about the trekking you begin from tomorrow at hotel. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu

Day 03 - Morning fly to Lukla (2804 meters), trek to Phakding (2610 meters) 3 hours. Overnight at guesthouse.

After breakfast, we take an early morning flight to Lukla, the gateway of the Everest region. It is 35 minutes flight. Next, we begin our trek through the prosperous village of Lukla to Phakding. Overnight in Phakding

Day 04 - Trek to Namche Bazaar (3441 meters) 5 hours. Overnight at guesthouse.

After breakfast, crossing the suspension bridge, the walking continues to ascend to Jorsalle, the entrance to the Sagarmatha National Park. The trail gradually ascends to Namche Bazaar, exploring the first sights of the Everest panoramas. Overnight in Namche Bazaar

Day 05 - Namche Bazaar Acclimatization day. Overnight at guesthouse.

Today, we take rest in Namche Bazaar to get rid of altitude sickness. Since it is the acclimatization day, we can visit the local market and hike to Thame. We also get an opportunity to explore the culture and tradition of the Sherpa people. Overnight at lodge

Day 06 - Trek to Tengboche Monastery (3860 meters) 5 hours. Overnight at guesthouse.

After breakfast, the trip begins through the wonderful hills and passes through the pine forest. You can enjoy the incredible view of Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam and Mt. Thamserku. Crossing the Dudh Koshi River we reach Tengboche. Tangboche is the biggest Buddhist Monastery situated at 3,870 m altitude. Overnight at lodge in Tengboche

Day 07 - Trek to Dingboche(4350 meters) 6 hours. Overnight at guesthouse.

After breakfast, the trip begins through the hike to Pangboche village. On the way, you will see many chortens, mani walls and prayer wheels. Crossing the Imja Khola we reach Dingboche. Overnight in Dingboche

Day 08 - Trek to Chukung (4710 meters) 4 hours. Overnight at guesthouse.

From Dingboche the trail ascends steeply along a rocky arid path to Chhukung. Chhukung is a beautiful village surrounded by the glaciers and Himalayas. The trek offers a wonderful view of Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Makalu and other peaks. Overnight in Chhukung

Day 09 - Trek to Island peak base camp (5240 meters) 4 hours. Overnight at Tented Camp.

The trek to Island Peak Base Camp is on a fairly steep trail. The direction changes from south to east that leads to the main route. It goes through the southern part of the Lhotse glacier. We cross the stream and reach Island Peak Base Camp. Overnight at base camp

Day 10 - Rest and Acclimatization day. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Today we acclimatize at Island peak base camp for the successful trip  to Island peak. We will do pre-climbing training today. Our guides will provide training on peak climbing techniques and the proper ways of using gears such as the ice axe, climbing boots and crampons, harness, ascender etc. Overnight at Tented Camp

Day 11 - Summit to Island peak (6187meters) and return to Chhukung (4750meters)- 9 to 12 hrs. Overnight  at guesthouse.

Early in the morning we begin the climbing because in the afternoon the strong winds in the highlands might become a barrier for a successful summit. Along the narrow and icy slopes, we ascend to the top and complete our summit. After enjoying the summit views, and taking pictures, we descend all the way to Chhukkung. Overnight at guesthouse

Day 12 - Trek to Tengboche (3860meters). 6 hours. Overnight at guesthouse.

Today it is easy walk down at the lower altitude. Tangboche is the biggest Buddhist Monastery situated at 3,870 m altitude. Crossing the rhododendron and pine forest we reach Tengboche. Overnight at lodge in Tengboche

Day 13 - Trek to Namche Bazaar (3441meters) via Khumjung (3780 metres) . 5 hours Overnight at guesthouse.

After breakfast, the trip begins through the wonderful hills and passes through the pine forest. You can enjoy the incredible view of Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam and Mt. Thamserku. Crossing the Khumjung we finally reach Namche Bazaar.Overnight at Namche Bazaar

Day 14 - Trek to Lukla (2804meters)5 hours .Overnight at guesthouse.

From Namche Bazaar, we continue to trek down to Lukla, the last trekking day of the trip. Crossing the Phakding, Nurning and Sherpa villages we reach Lukla. Overnight at Lukla

Day 15 - Morning flight to Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel.

In the early morning flight we fly back to Kathmandu from Lukla with the Everest scenarios. From the airport, we drive to the hotel and you can spend your rest of the time as you wish or can plan for some side trip.

Day 16 - Leisure day in Kathmandu Overnight at hotel.

Today you can take rest, explore Kathmandu valley and do some souvenir shopping. In the evening, there will be a farewell dinner to celebrate the successful completion of your journey in the Everest region. Overnight in Kathmandu

Day 17 - Transfer to international airport for your final departure.

Your beautiful journey to the country of Himalayas ends today. The representative of Two Brothers Trek and Expedition will drop you to the Tribhuvan International Airport before 3 hours of your scheduled flight and wishes to have a safe journey.
