Trekking in Langtang valley and Ganja La pass, north of Kathmandu, offers a many hiking destinations. Langtang valley is a narrow valley just below the main Himalayan range to the north Tibet Border and a slightly lower range of snow-white peaks to the south. A visit to the Langtang valley recommend a chance to explore Tibetan rural community, Tamang Villages, to climb small peaks and to visit glaciers at comfortably low altitude. Kyanjin Gompa is a last Tibetan rural community in the valley, from where a trek begins to Helambu over Ganja La Pass (5,200m). The pass itself is not easy, however, for the period of autumn and spring the pass opens for trekkers.

A hike Over Ganja la pass offers a completely wild and adventure experience. If you are hiking during the spring the forest on the track is colorful and flowering full of Rhododendrons. Langtang Ganjala pass trek passes through Langtang to Helambu via the Ganja-La pass which is a serious responsibility requiring first-class equipment and skill from local guides. For three or four days there are no services and groups so the staff must be fully independent. Crossing of the pass need use of technical climbing gear and trekkers must be skilled in the use of this and be ready to assist less well-resourced porter staff. The trail pursues a small valley before reaching the glaciated pass where the use of ropes and ice axes may be required.

Day 01:Arrival at Kathmandu Airport and transfer to hotel

The representative of Two Brothers Trek and Expeditions will heartily welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer to hotel.  You take rest and enjoy your meal in the evening. Overnight stay at hotel in Kathmandu


Day 2 Sightseeing of Kathmandu City

After breakfast, we set out for the city sightseeing to the historical monuments. You will visit UNESCO world heritage sites, which include Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Darbar Squar, Bhaktapur Darbar Square, Swayambhunath, Bouddhanath and Pashupatinath. We will give you briefing about the trekking you begin from tomorrow at hotel. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu


Day 03:Drive to Syabrubesi (1,550m), 145 km/ 7 hrs

Early morning after having breakfast you will be transferred to Bus station to start your journey towards Syabrubesi, along the bus journey you will drive through beautiful village and you will see snow capped Mountain along the Langtang Himalaya and it will make your trekking become pleasant and touch your heart.


Day 04:Trek to Lama Hotel (2560m). 5-6 hours.

The trail branches off Syabrubesi main road by a police post where you will need to register trekking permit and crosses a suspension bridge over the Bhotekoshi River. Passing a bridge and small waterfall bhatties (village inns) beside the stream at Dovan, the trail then make steep uphill over rocky ridge to the easily missed junction, where the route from thulo sayasbru join from over. Long uphill forest past the waterfall and couples of lodge in pairo meaning of landside; 1800m to Bamboo a cluster hotel at 1930m. Beyond Bamboo the trail crosses Dangdung Khola then uphill to still suspension bridge over the langtang Khola. On the north bank of langtang Khola the route uphill alongside series of waterfalls and arrive in Changtang famous known as Lama Hotel overnight here.


Day 05:Lama hotel to Langtang Valley (3455m). 4-5 hours.

Today we will follow the trail that goes through dense forest filled with oaks, birch , hemlock and mountain bamboo. During our trek we will have opportunity to spot wild monkeys and several species of birds. Our trek continues through additional forest passing through a lone teahouse at Gumnachok and from there climb steeply to reach Ghoratabela. There is an army check post at Ghoratabela where trekking permits will be checked. From here we will trek through small settlements of Chyamki and Kangtangsa before making a short climb to reach Langtang village.


Day 06:Langtang to Kyanjin Gompa (3870m). 4-5 hours.

The trail goes slowly up all the way to Kyanjin Gompa.  The trail passes through the tiny village, stone-built houses and climb to a Chorten. The valley relocates to a U-shaped one as you enter into a level of riverbed. Today is short walk; allowing time to acclimatize and explore the surrounding.This place is famous for cheese and curd. Have a Lunch and rest few moment in local hotel at Kyanjin Gompa and left backpack there. Climb half an hour uphill from where you feel you are just laying in the lap of Mt langtang. Back to the hotel and overnight there.


Day 07:Excursion to Tsergo Ri (4,984 m) and back to Kyangjing, 7-8 hrs

Today, we make an excursion to Tsergo Ri which would also help us to acclimatize.  The climb to Tsergo Ri which is above 5 thousand meters offers a magnificently panoramic views of the Himalayas. Besides, the climb to Tsergo Ri is a challenging one and the time for the climb depends upon your physical fitness and previous experience. By evening, we return back to Kyanjing Gompa.


Day 08:Trek to Ganja La phedi (4300 m), 5-6 hrs

Todays our destination is Ganja La Phedi. We will Cross the Langtang River and ascend through dense jungle and sloppy landscape. It is high altitude location hiking so we have to go slowly. Time to reach La Phedi depend upon weather and season of treak. During the winter snow, it might take longer time to cross the snow strewn path.


Day 09:Cross Ganja La pass (5,130 m) and trek to Keldang (4,250 m), 6-7 hrs

This is most strenuous and challanging day for every trekkers since Ganja La is one of the difficult passes.   Ganja la pass is covered with snow almost throughout the year. Make the long ascent through the boulders, pass the small lakes, and summit the Ganja La which situated on a rocky moraine. Enjoy the spectacular views from the pass. Climbing up and down the pass can sometimes be tricky due to snowfall and ice. After Completing the Pass of 5,130 m height we slightly descent downward and stay in Keldang.


Day 10:Trek from Keldang to Yak Kharka (4,000 m), 5-6 hrs

After breakfast at Keldang, we descend further down following a prominent ridge line. In our 5-6 hrs trek today, we continue losing our altitude through forests, ridges, and grasslands and reach Yak Kharka. Overnight in Yak Kharka


Day 11:Trek from Yak Kharka to TarkeGhyang (2,590 m), 5-6 hrs

Trail descends about 200 m and climb the pass. From the Pass you can enjoy spectacular view of the Himalayas in Annapurna Region and Everest region. From the pass trail descends through pine forest, rhododendron forest past tiny herder's settlement to Tarkeghyang. You can visit one of the oldest Buddhist monastery and Sherpa villages. These villages are well settled where friendly and cheerful natured people inhabit. Overnight in Tarkeghyang


Day 12:Trek from TarkeGhyang to Sermathang (2,610 m), 3-4 hrs

This day the trail is quite easier through flat land with beautiful forests on the way. You trek on crossing some small streams on the way. There is situated a beautiful village on the half way to Shermathang. To add your joy, Shermathang is another pretty Sherpa village where you can visit many ancient monasteries. There you can see Jugal Himal range at the north face of Shermathang village.


Day 13: Trek to Melamchi Pul Bazar, Drive back to Kathmandu

From Sermathang to Melamchi Pul bazar, it is approximately two hours trek. The trail gradually descends all the way to Melamchi Pul Bazaar through meadows and cultivated fields. On the way, you come across several old villages with their own particular tradition. Walking this day is quite pleasant with mountain views and interaction with local and friendly people.

From the Melemchi pul Bazaar we will drive back to Kathmandu. This is also a bumpy road. You will have adventurous road experience. In the remaining free time, after reaching Kathmandu you can buy some gift items from Thamel market which is famous for tourist shop, restaurant, music and night life.


Day 14: Departure to International Airport 

We transfer you to the airport 3 hours before your flight. So, as per your flight schedule, we check out from the hotel and leave you at International terminal side at airport.
