A trek to the Langtang valley has to be one of the best short treks available in Nepal. The east-west running valley is the site of some fabulous alpine panorama as well as a great place to meet unique people. A minimum of one week is required, but trekkers are well advised to add a few extra days for acclimatization and for side trips in the valley. Along our journey you will walk through the Langtang National Park. Although wildlife is never easy to spot in a forest setting, here you get the chance to see some remarkable animals and birds. Among them monkeys, musk deer, Pica and the national bird of Nepal, the colorful danphe are found in the park.
Langtang Valley trek is best started either from Dhunche or from Syabrubesi.
1st Day - Arrival at the Tribuwan International Airport in Kathmandu (1,345m).Overnight at a hotel.
The representative of Two Brothers Trek and Expeditions will heartily welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer to hotel. You take rest and enjoy your meal in the evening. Overnight stay at hotel in Kathmandu
2nd Day - Pre-trip meeting and sightseeing around the Kathmandu valley. Overnight at a hotel.
After breakfast, we set out for the city sightseeing to the historical monuments. You will visit UNESCO world heritage sites, which include Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Darbar Squar, Bhaktapur Darbar Square, Swayambhunath, Bouddhanath and Pashupatinath. We will give you briefing about the trekking you begin from tomorrow at hotel. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu
3rd Day - Drive to Syabru Besi (1,462m) on a public bus - 8 hrs. Overnight at a hotel.
Early morning after having breakfast you will be transferred to Bus station to start your journey towards Syabrubesi, along the bus journey you will drive through beautiful village and you will see snow capped Mountain along the Langtang Himalaya and it will make your trekking become pleasant and touch your heart.
4th Day - Trek to Lama Hotel (2,500m) - 5 hrs. Overnight at a guesthouse.
The trail branches off Syabrubesi main road by a police post where you will need to register trekking permit and crosses a suspension bridge over the Bhotekoshi River. Passing a bridge and small waterfall bhatties (village inns) beside the stream at Dovan, the trail then make steep uphill over rocky ridge to the easily missed junction, where the route from thulo sayasbru join from over. Beyond Bamboo the trail crosses Dangdung Khola then uphill to still suspension bridge over the Langtang Khola. On the north bank of Langtang Khola the route ascent uphill alongside series of waterfalls and arrive in Changtang famous known as Lama Hotel overnight here.
5th Day - Trek to the Langtang village (3,307m) - 5 hrs. Overnight at a guesthouse.
Today we will follow the trail that goes through dense forest filled with oaks, birch , hemlock and mountain bamboo. During our trek we will have opportunity to spot wild monkeys and several species of birds. Our trek continues through additional forest passing through a lone teahouse at Gumnachok and from there climb steeply to reach Ghoratabela. There is an army check post at Ghoratabela where trekking permits will be checked. From here we will trek through small settlements of Chyamki and Kangtangsa before making a short climb to reach Langtang village. Overnight in Langtang village
6th Day - Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3,798m ) - 4 hrs. Overnight at a guesthouse.
The trail goes slowly up all the way to Kyanjin Gompa. The trail passes through the tiny village, stone-built houses and climb to a Chorten. The valley relocates to a U-shaped one as you enter into a level of riverbed. Today is short walk; allowing time to acclimatize and explore the surrounding. This place is famous for cheese and curd. Have a Lunch and rest few moment in local hotel at Kyanjin Gompa and left backpack there. Climb half an hour uphill from where you feel you are just laying in the lap of Mt Langtang. Back to the hotel and overnight there.
7th Day - Kyanjin Gompa exploration day. Overnight at a guesthouse.
After breakfast, we get out of the village and pass on through yak pastures and visit Tserko Ri for mountain sunrise views. Since, we are really getting into the high altitudes, you might start feeling the thin air. In the afternoon we return to Kanjin Gompa- surrounded by the Himalayas all around. You can take a walk around Kanjin Gompa enjoying the views, glaciers, icefalls, birds and yaks. Overnight in Kyanjin Gompa
8th Day - Trek back to Lama Hotel (2,500m) - 5.5 hrs. Overnight at a guesthouse.
After breakfast, we trek back to Lama Hotel. The trail goes all the way down hill through forest following the river. The trail passes through the ethnic Tamang settlements who follow religious and cultural practices similar to the Tibetans. Overnight at Lama Hotel
9th Day - Trek to Syabru Bensi (1, 462m) - 5 hrs. Overnight at a guesthouse.
After breakfast, we trek downwards to Syabru Bensi. After walking for about 5 hours and crossing the dense forests and suspension bridges we reach Syabru Bensi. Overnight in Syabru Bensi
10th Day - Drive back to Kathmandu by Public Bus - 8 hrs. Overnight at a hotel.
After breakfast, we drive back to Kathmandu. You will have adventurous road experience. After returning Kathmandu you will be transferred to hotel and in the remaining free time, you can buy some gift items from Thamel market which is famous for tourist shop, restaurant, music and night life.
11th Day - Leisure day and farewell dinner in Kathmandu. Overnight at a hotel.
Today you can take rest and explore the sights of Kathmandu valley which you missed during your first day in Kathmandu. In the evening, we will have a farewell dinner in the typical Nepali restaurant to celebrate the successful completion of our journey. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu
12th Day - Transfer to international airport for your final departure.
Your beautiful journey to the country of Himalayas ends today. The representative of Two Brothers Trek and Expedition will drop you to the Tribhuvan International Airport before 3 hours of your scheduled flight and wishes to have a safe journey.
