Our journey starts with an hour-long flight to Tumlingtar and the real trek begins from Chichila. Best Season

Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are the best months for this trip. Although this trip can be taken during winter, the cold temperature might not be suitable for everyone.

Summarize circuit

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264ft)

The representative of Two Brothers Trek and Expeditions will heartily welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer to hotel.You take rest and enjoy your meal in the evening. Overnight stay at hotel in Kathmandu


Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing

After breakfast, we set out for the city sightseeing to the historical monuments. You will visit UNESCO world heritage sites, which include Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Darbar Squar, Bhaktapur Darbar Square, Swayambhunath, Bouddhanath and Pashupatinath. We will give you briefing about the trekking you begin from tomorrow at hotel. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu


Day 03: Fly from Kathmandu to Tumlingtar then drive to Chichira (1,980m/6497ft): 50 mins flight, 3-4 hours drive

After breakfast, we fly to Tumlingtar from Kathmandu. It is 50 minutes flight. We drive to a small Gurung village called Chichira from Tumlingtar. Overnight in Chichira


Day 04: Chichira to Num (1,560m/5119ft): 6-7 hours

Passing through the several Sherpa villages, the route ascents along the ridge and then descents into the atmospheric oak forest. Again we climb along the ridge line through woodland to Mure then descend to the hacked landscape of forest and temporary pastures Num for overnight.


Day 05: Num to Seduwa (1,500m/4922 ft): 6-7 hours

Our trek continues following the trail steep down to Arun koshi through the greenery farming terraced field. On the way we cross the river over the suspension bridge and continue our steep long ascending to Murmidanda/ Sheduwa for camping.


Day 06: Seduwa to Tashigaon (2,100m/6890ft): 4-5 hours

The trail passes through the national park forestry project and we cross several streams on stones or temporary bamboo bridge. Gradual climbing to Chyantedanda, terraced farm field, meadows and forest glades to the last permanent settlement Tashi gaun.


Day 07: Tashigaon to Khongma Danda (3,500m/11,483 ft): 6-7 hours

Today we climb over the ridge through the forest to a steam, this stage involves 1400m of steep climbing to Chipla, over hanging rock, small pastures to the crest of Khongma danda. Behind the small ridge an old parti house is built under the cliff for porters.


Day 08: Acclimatization/Rest

On the eighth day we acclimatize at Khongma Danda. We can hike around and enjoy the natural beauty. Overnight in Khogma Danda


Day 09: Khongma Danda to Dobate: 6-7 hours

From Khongma Danda the trail ascend and cross the Shipton La pass and Keke La pass.  After crossing the Keke La pass, we descend thorough the beautiful valley to Dobate. Overnight in Dobate


Day 10: Dobate to Yangri Kharka (3,557m/11,670 ft): 6-7 hours

The trail drops down to Barun valley to stream and turn to the west valley. The trail passes through the alpine forest, cross the Barun River on a wooden bridge and rise to the ridge. This is a big fine flat area for the camping with enough water sources. Overnight in Yangi Kharka


Day 11: Yangri Kharka to Langmale Kharka: (4,410m/14,468ft): 5-6 hours

From Yangi Kharka the trail passes through the yak pastures, lush forests and boulder fields and we reach Langmale Kharka. Overnight in Langmale Kharka


Day 12: Langmale Kharka to Makalu Base Camp: (4,870m/15,978ft): 6-7 hours

From Langmale Kharka we make our way up to Shershong and eventually to Makalu Base Camp. As we make our way to the camp, we get see incredible view of the majestic Himalayan panorama surrounding us. Overnight in Makalu Base Camp


Day 13: Explore Makalu Base Camp

Today we travel around Makalu Base Camp. We can explore the surrounding lakes, glaciers and go for a short trek up. There are no huts, shelters or vegetation at Base Camp at an elevation of 5.050m. Overnight in Makalu Base Camp


Day 14: Makalu Base Camp to Yangri Kharka: 6-7 hours

We return down from the base camp to Barun valley, finally stopping at the green and pleasant kharka. Overnight in Yangri kharka


Day 15: Yangri Kharka to Dobate: 6-7 hours

From Yangri Kharka we descend through rock falls, green forests and valley, making our way towards Dobate. Overnight in Dobate


Day 16: Dobate to Khongma Danda: 5-6 hours

We begin the trek with steep climb from Dobate to Mumbuk. Next, we crosss the Shipton La and descend to Kongma Danda. Overnight in Kongma Danda


Day 17: Khongma Danda to Tashigaon: 4-5 hours

The trek begins with continues descend to Tashigaon through the dense forest. Overnight in Tashigaon


Day 18: Tashigaon to Seduwa: 4-5 hours

We retrace our steps as we exit the Makalu National Park and descend to the Barun River. We cross the hillside, come across the village and arrive at Seduwa. Overnight in Seduwa


Day 19: Seduwa to Num: 5-6 hours

After breakfast, we leave Seduwa and trek through lush forests towards Num. the trail fluctuates and passes through the dense forest again and Sherpa villages. Then we descend down to Num. Overnight in Num


Day 20: Num to Tumlingtar: 6-7 hours

Crossing the same heavy dense forest, Mure, Chichila we descend to Tamang village Bhotebash. From Bhotebash we descend down along the ridge of Manebhanjyang, Khadbari to Tumlingtar. Overnight in Tumlingtar


Day 21: Tumlingtar to Kathmandu: 50 mins flight

After out long trek in the mountains today we fly back to Kathmandu from Tumlingtar. From the airport, we drive to the hotel and you can spend your rest of the time as you wish or can plan for some side trip.


Day 22: Final departure

Your beautiful journey to the country of Himalayas ends today. The representative of Two Brothers Trek and Expedition will drop you to the Tribhuvan International Airport before 3 hours of your scheduled flight and wishes to have a safe journey.
