Sikkim and Darjeeling

Overview

Sikkim and Darjeeling lies in the base of world's third highest mountain Mt. Kangchendzonga (8586m). Sikkim was once a remote mountain kingdom which was ruled by Chogyals (Kings) but now it is a small state in northwest India.  The state is one of the prominent destinations for travelers because of the Himalayan environment, Gurgling streams, snowcapped mountains, its rich culture, monasteries, flora and fauna. Sikkim is highly influenced by Buddhism so you will find more than two hundred monasteries in Sikkim.

Darjeeling was once a summer resort for the British Raj elite. It is a popular hill station situated at an altitude of 2590m. There are many places to visit in Darjeeling like tiger hill, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Padmaja Naidu Himalayas Zoological Park, Tenzing Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Center, Happy Valley Tea Garden, Japanese Temple and Peace Pagoda.
